Jayant Patil raised the question that, if 80 lakh beneficiaries in this scheme were fake, then why did the government give them the benefits of the scheme for the last 20 months? Expressing doubt he asked – was this planned corruption? Patil further said – At the rate of Rs 1,500 per woman per month, approximately Rs 24,000 crore was distributed to these 80 lakh ineligible women. The government should tell who is responsible for this huge amount?
