TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, who sat in Kolkata to protest against the attack on party leaders, fiercely targeted BJP. He alleged that BJP rigged the counting of votes on 177 out of 294 seats to win the Bengal Assembly elections. Only six MPs and six MLAs of the party were present with Mamata Banerjee sitting on the dharna. In the recently held elections in the state, 80 MLAs of the party had registered victory, but only 6 MLAs registered their presence at the strike.

Former Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has accused BJP of trying to break Trinamool Congress after looting votes in the elections. Along with Lok Sabha MP Kalyan Banerjee, Rajya Sabha MPs Dola Sen, Derek O’Brien, Mala Roy, Sameerul Islam, Nadimul Haq were present in the protest with Mamata Banerjee. Talking about TMC MLAs, Sovandeb Chatterjee, Ashok Deb, Madan Mitra, Nayana Bandopadhyay, Firhad Hakim and Kunal Ghosh reached the protest.
Those who supported him are meeting with traitors: Mamata
Mamta Banerjee said, ‘Police are threatening TMC workers not to participate in the protests, I will continue the protest. It was not the policy of the TMC government to evict hawkers without rehabilitation, we adopted a humanitarian approach. I will not abandon TMC workers in this difficult time. Pointing towards Subhendu Adhikari, Mamata Banerjee said, ‘I regret that the people whom I supported in my life are now associating with traitors.’
Mamta Banerjee’s statement on fake signature controversy
Former CM Mamata Banerjee said, ‘Modi ji has left Bengal in the hands of anti-social elements and unruly leaders, who are pushing the state into darkness. If other parties are allowed to organize political events at the place where we were not given permission to protest, then TMC will approach the court. On the fake signature controversy, he said, ‘If the Assembly Speaker has doubts about the authenticity of the signatures of TMC MLAs, then their forensic examination should be conducted.’
