The petition related to the action taken by Delhi Police on July 20 was heard in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday. ASG SV Raju presented his side on behalf of the government. During this, he gave a strange argument and said that if there is violence then the police will take action.
Additional Solicitor General ASG SV Raju, while presenting the Centre’s side in the court while opening the arguments, said, ‘What was being called a peaceful movement, was not peaceful. There are videos which show that policemen were injured. The crowd became uncontrollable and resorted to violence. Violence cannot be allowed. There are also videos in which the crowd can be seen throwing stones. If the petitioner has any evidence in the form of video, he can file a complaint with the concerned authorities.

ASG Raju said, ‘It seems that this is a petition to get publicity. A lot of publicity people are involved in this. This should be rejected. There are videos in which police are seen injured. The so called peaceful movement was not peaceful. Such demonstrations are hijacked by other people. Police vehicles were damaged. Policemen were injured. FIR is also registered when the crowd becomes uncontrollable. If violence occurs then the police have to take action. Many senior police officers and paramilitary forces along with Delhi Police personnel have been injured in the demonstration.

Hearing held in High Court regarding Sonam Wangchuk and Parliament march
The petition related to the lathi charge against the protesters during the Parliament march in Delhi and the forced removal of Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar on July 18 was heard in the Delhi High Court. This case is being heard by the bench of Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia. Advocate N Hariharan, on behalf of the petitioner, presented his side in the court regarding the incident.
Delhi High Court issued notice
At the same time, Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Delhi Police on this entire matter. He has sought a reply within four weeks. The petitioners will file their (rejoinder) response to the police response in the next four weeks. The next hearing will be held on September 11. The High Court has ordered Delhi Police to preserve body camera footage and CCTV footage.
