Rashid Khan could not control himself after seeing the funeral of his friend. He suddenly started crying bitterly. This funeral was not of anyone else but of former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran.
Shapoor died on 07 July. He was suffering from a serious disease called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) for a long time. His treatment was going on in India, due to which his body was taken from India to Afghanistan.
As soon as his mortal remains reached Afghanistan, his companions present at the airport became emotional, which included everyone from Rashid Khan to many Afghan cricketers. The video is really emotional.
Let us tell you that Shapoor was among those cricketers of Afghanistan who gave recognition to the country in cricket at the international level. He was one of the players who laid the foundation of cricket for the country. Shapoor said goodbye to the world at the age of just 38.
The Afghan player started playing international cricket in 2009 and remained active till 2020. After this, he announced his retirement from international cricket last year i.e. in January 2025.
He played 44 ODI and 36 T20 International matches in his career. Bowling in 44 innings of ODI, he took 43 wickets at an average of 36.95, in which the best figure was 4/24. In the remaining 36 innings of T20 International, he took 37 wickets in his account, in which the best figure was 3/40. During this period his economy was 7.83.
Recently there was a series between India and Afghanistan
Last month in June, a Test and 3-match ODI series was played between India and Afghanistan. Team India won the test by an innings and 300 runs. After this, Team India under the captaincy of Shubman Gill had won 3-0 in the ODI series.
