Apologized to Universe Boss after breaking the record
After the match, Pollard said, ‘It is very special to leave Chris Gayle behind. In West Indies, we all have grown up considering him as our idol. He has made great contributions in every format of cricket. So I would just say, sorry Universe Boss, but now we both are on top. He further said, ‘It is not easy to bat at number 6 or 7. But someone has to fulfill this responsibility. When other players want to bat in the top order, then the team also needs such players who can finish the match. I accepted my role and worked hard on it. When you understand your work and prepare, the results are also good.
