Statements have come from both the countries on the news of India rejecting the trade deal between India and America. India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has completely rejected this report. A few hours later, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore also termed this news as fake news. The US Ambassador clarified that neither party has rejected any agreement.

Responding to the report of news agency Reuters, US Ambassador Sergio Gore posted on social media platform X saying that it is a fake news alert. Nobody has ruled anything out. He said that there have been very positive meetings between the two sides regarding the trade deal. The US Ambassador said that both sides have reiterated their commitment to finalize the trade agreement. We are constantly actively engaged. He further said that Reuters, you can do better than this.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has also termed this report on social media as completely wrong and baseless. Goyal said that this news is nothing but completely false, baseless and misleading. I had excellent meetings with US Trade Representative Jameson Greer when he visited Delhi in June, and both sides are committed to an agreement that is balanced and makes commercial sense. He told that our teams are busy achieving this objective.

We are at the very last step of this deal – Sergio Gore
Sergio Gore, while addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum Leadership Summit last month, had said that this historic trade agreement is now in its final stages. Gore had said that we are at the very last step of this deal. Most of the work of this agreement has been completed. There are only a few things left from both sides. You can say that this deal is now stuck on its last 1 percent part. He had said that he is working continuously to complete this deal as soon as possible.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore said that the India-US trade agreement is almost complete, only the last 1 or 2 percent of the legal text is being negotiated. Dismissing rumors of diplomatic differences, Gore on Monday announced that an India-US bilateral trade deal is on the verge of completion.

Addressing delegates at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit 2026, Gore expressed high hopes for the relationship between the two countries. The trade agreement, which was being prepared for about 18 months, recently faced administrative delay due to the intervention of the court. Gore assured the concerned parties that the recent 2-day visit of US Trade Representative Ambassador Jameson Lee Greer to Delhi has succeeded in resolving the issue.

<iframe title="Iran ने निकाला ब्रह्मास्त्र! America थर-थर कांपा !
According to news agency ANI, the US Ambassador said that the US Mission in India has helped bring a huge new investment of $ 20.5 billion in America this year alone, leaving behind its European counterparts. He further said that we have been working on this trade deal for one and a half years. The European trade deal took 20 years. Whatever happens, as long as we’re doing better than the European deal, I think we’re in good shape.

What did you say by giving the example of Europe?
Gore said that we have very beautiful embassies in Europe and he comes on stage and says we are proud to announce $500 million. Some say that we are proud to announce $700 million, whereas our embassy in New Delhi has announced new investment of $20.5 billion this year.

Mentioned about Trump’s visit to India
Regarding the two-hour private meeting with Donald Trump in Washington, Gore said that the President is fully committed to this strategic alliance. His memories related to India are very good. His last trip was the most memorable one, about which he still talks. He further said that he (Trump) likes India very much and hence I hope that at some point of time he will visit India again.

Gore said that the future of the world depends to a great extent on areas like deep technology, defense integration and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He said that my aim is to take advantage of these possibilities and bring both the parties together. In the end it is a win-win situation for both.

‘India sells most goods to America’
He said that India exports more goods and services to America than any other country in the world. In terms of defense cooperation, America conducts more joint military and defense exercises with India than any other global partner. Gore stressed that the focus of both the governments is now on meeting the mega bilateral trade target of $500 billion, which was initiated by President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore, while giving a big statement on the suspense regarding the US-India trade deal, made it clear that the agreement is in the final stages. Referring to the strong bonding between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, Gore narrated an incident in which Trump had suddenly asked Gore to call PM Modi at 6 in the morning.

What did Sergio Gore say?

Sergio Gore participated in the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on Monday (June 29). During this, while remembering an evening spent with US President Donald Trump at a UFC program to be held in Miami, he also narrated an anecdote showing the rapport between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that Trump suddenly asked him to call PM Modi. Gore was surprised to hear this. He told the American President, ‘It must be 6 o’clock in the morning there.’ On this Trump said, ‘He must be awake. He is just like me. However, this call was scheduled for the next day.

Mention of PM Modi-Trump relationship

The American Ambassador said that this shows how strong the relationship is between the two leaders. Gore said, ‘When you are someone’s friend, nothing is predetermined. What a strong relationship there is between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Giorgia Meloni On Trump: ‘Can’t bow down before America’, Georgia Meloni hits back at Trump’s allegations, know why she said this?

Trump has fond memories of India

Regarding President Trump, Ambassador Gore said that he is personally engaged in relations with India. America wants to work together with India. We have a President who cares deeply about this relationship. He has very fond memories of India. This was one of his most special tours which he keeps talking about.

Talks have been going on for a long time regarding the much-awaited trade deal between India and America. In such a situation, the biggest question is why this agreement has not been reached yet. Now US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has explained the reason for this and said that now only a few issues are yet to be agreed upon between the two countries. He expressed confidence that this deal can be finalized in the coming few weeks or months.

‘Now only a few issues remain to be discussed’
Sergio Gore said while talking to news agency IANS that the recent meeting with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi was very positive. He said that now most of the work is to prepare the final language of the agreement, which both the countries have to sign. He said that now only a few issues are left and the talks are moving in the right direction.

Reason given for delay in trade deal
Gore said that people often ask why it is taking so long to make a trade deal, but it is normal for such international agreements to take a long time. He told that India and America have been working on this agreement for about one and a half years, whereas talks on trade deal between America and the European Union have been going on for about 20 years and that too has not been completed yet. He said that the India-US trade deal is moving in the right direction and both the countries are very positive about it.

He said that the two leaders discussed trade, defense and many important issues for more than an hour. Gore said that many such issues were discussed in this meeting, which will further strengthen the relations between the two countries in the future. He expressed hope that some big announcements may also be made in the coming weeks.

Praising India’s potential
Sharing his six-month experience in India, Gore said that he visited different parts of the country and saw closely the rapidly growing potential of India.
US Ambassador Sergio Gore said on Friday that the Trump administration sees India as a major global power and wants to deepen the partnership between the two countries. Trump’s key aide and Ambassador Gore described India as one of the new centers of power with which Washington is actively trying to engage.

US Foreign Minister visited India

“This administration is identifying new centers of power,” Gore said. We understand the immense potential of India. We are looking at the development potential of India. We are expanding and strengthening this partnership. Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited India in an effort to improve relations that had deteriorated in recent months.

Trump’s statements surprised India

Donald Trump’s decisions have repeatedly troubled New Delhi. His administration imposed a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods. Publicly supported Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, attempted to intervene in the Kashmir issue, softened its stance against China in the trade war, and faced criticism for promoting anti-India rhetoric in the US.

In which areas are India and America working together?

Despite the tension, Gore focused on areas where cooperation between the two countries is continuously increasing. He pointed to the expansion of the ICET initiative, which originally focused on semiconductor, AI and quantum technologies. Apart from this, important mineral supply chains, energy and space technology are also included. According to Gore, cooperation in these areas has started showing results and investments are coming from both the countries.

How much did India invest in America?

He said that companies like Amazon are part of about $35 billion of investments coming into India, while Indian companies have invested about $20 billion in America. Gore further said that every week someone comes to the embassy and asks whether it is safe to invest in India, then we say yes. Gore also stressed that Washington wants to strengthen cooperation in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors and pointed out that India supplies about 40 percent of generic drugs sold in the US.

India US Trade Deal: The long-running interim trade deal negotiations between India and America have now reached the final stages. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has claimed that only 1 percent of the proposed trade agreement is left to be finalized.

He expressed hope that this agreement can be signed in the next few weeks or months. Meanwhile, a high-level delegation of American negotiators will reach New Delhi between June 1 and 4 and hold further talks.

US Ambassador Sergio Gore said in IIT-Delhi

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore, a close aide of US President Donald Trump, addressed the program organized at IIT-Delhi on Friday. Speaking on the topic ‘US-India Trust Initiative: Advancing Partnership in Research and Innovation’, he said that both the countries should further strengthen cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), pharmaceuticals, quantum computing and critical minerals.

American delegation will come to India next week

This week, the Commerce Ministry said that a delegation led by America’s chief negotiator will visit India from June 1 to 4. This visit is being considered as the next step towards finalizing the interim bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. Earlier, the team of Indian negotiators had gone to Washington between 20 and 23 April, where the final points of the agreement were discussed.

‘Only 1% work left’, agreement will be reached soon

Sergio Gore said that the interim trade agreement is now ready to be finalized and will boost the prosperity of both countries. He said, ‘India had sent its team to Washington to finalize the last 1 percent of this trade agreement. Next week we will welcome the American delegation to India and take the talks forward. We have full hope that this agreement will be reached in the coming few weeks or months.

Trade increased from 20 billion dollars to 220 billion dollars

Gore said that in the last two decades, trade in goods and services between India and America has increased from $ 20 billion to more than $ 220 billion. He said that this is a proof of the growing economic partnership, deep relations and strong economic integration between the two countries.

What is the goal of the Trump administration?

According to Gore, President Donald Trump’s aim is to create a business environment that can provide unprecedented opportunities to American companies and employees. He said that India is among America’s most important trading partners. On February 7, India and the US issued a joint statement agreeing on a framework for an interim trade agreement. In this framework, it was said to promote mutual and beneficial trade for both the countries. The commitment to continue negotiations on a comprehensive bilateral trade agreement (BTA) was also reiterated.

Why does America want a quick agreement?

According to people associated with the matter, the American administration seems more eager to complete this agreement soon. A major reason behind this is the US mid-term elections to be held in November. The Trump administration wants to register a major economic achievement before these elections. However, the Indian side is not in favor of accepting any such proposal, which would affect the interests of the farmers and domestic producers of the country. Especially on issues like further opening up of the agriculture sector, India is adopting a cautious stance.

Pressure of not getting a big deal with China

Sources say that no major economic agreement could be reached during Trump’s recent visit to China. This has increased the pressure to quickly complete the trade agreement with India. A source said that China has not shown any indication of increasing its purchases of American agricultural products, especially soybeans.

On which issues are talks going on?

According to the Commerce Ministry, India is also taking forward negotiations on a comprehensive trade agreement along with finalizing the final details of the interim agreement. These include market access, non-tariff measures, customs and trade facilitation, and economic security issues.

‘Return to your country immediately’, Amit Shah’s warning to the intruder, Chicken Neck land handed over to BSF

Partnership increasing with new technologies

Sergio Gore said that the main reason for the growth in India-US trade relations is innovation, investment and high-value sectors like digital trade, advanced manufacturing, energy and emerging technologies. He said that new and important technologies are changing the global balance of power and India and America’s partnership in this field is in the best position.

‘Become the most important strategic partnership of the 21st century’

Gore said that he wishes that India-US relations be established as the most important strategic partnership of the 21st century.

Increasing cooperation through trust initiative

He said that the Trump administration has identified ‘new power centres’ like India. Under this thinking, ‘Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technologies’ i.e. TRUST initiative was started. This initiative started during the meeting between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when Trump started his second term. Its objective is to promote innovation with trusted partner countries and ensure the security of sensitive technologies. Gore said that under the bilateral AI infrastructure roadmap, the US Commerce Department has resumed the supply of advanced AI chips.

‘Trade deal will be finalized soon’- Sergio Gore

Regarding the India-US trade agreement at the summit, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore said, ‘For all of you who have asked why it is taking so much time, it has been one and a half years since these talks on the trade deal started. To put it in perspective, the European Union took approximately 19 years. Therefore, we are confident that this trade deal will be finalized in the next few weeks or in the next few months. This will provide stability and opportunity to both our sides.

There is speculation about a second round of talks to stop the ongoing war between America and Iran. The first meeting was held in Islamabad due to the efforts of Pakistan and Egypt, which remained inconclusive. Meanwhile, America’s Ambassador to India and Trump’s close associate Sergio Gore has given a big statement about India’s role in stopping the war. He has said that America will welcome India’s participation for peace in the Middle East.

Sergio Gore said in an interview to NDTV, ‘America will welcome India’s participation as it has done to many other countries. Honestly speaking, this is a question for India. I think the whole world can play a role in the peace process and India is also included in it. However, he further said that India will have to decide what it wants to do.

Trump does not discriminate against anyone: Gore

The US ambassador said that President Donald Trump was not discriminating about who could help end the conflict. He said, ‘The President welcomes all those who want to participate. The President welcomes anyone who wants to be a part of it.

A person close to Trump has said this after returning from Washington. “We have many important issues,” Gore said. Sergio Gore’s words were indicating that announcements between the two countries on trade and bilateral issues could be made within a few days, but he refused to say which topics would be included in these. He said, ‘You may get to see some news in the next few days, but tonight I cannot tell you about it.’

What did Sergio Gore say on PM Modi-Trump conversation?

Describing the conversation that lasted for about 40 minutes between PM Modi and President Trump, he said that before Trump’s visit, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit India next month.

Regarding Iran, the US Ambassador said, ‘There is only one reason for the increase in oil and gas prices and that is that someone (Iran) is holding the region hostage. He said, ‘So obviously America wants to open this waterway and hence I think the whole world including India will benefit from this.’

What did Gore say when Islamabad talk failed?

Gore said that Prime Minister Modi and President Trump also discussed the US blockade of Iranian ports. He refused to answer questions related to the possibility of new talks between Iran and America after the failure of talks in Islamabad.

He said, ‘It is not my job to announce any future talks. They discussed the blockade and the importance of reopening it (Strait of Hormuz) as soon as possible. To be honest, the entire region and the world is suffering because of this. He said, ‘Why should a country have the right to switch off lights in any part of the world? This is unjust. This must be stopped and America is determined to ensure this.

Middle East Tensions: Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, India has decided to buy oil from Russia again to secure the energy supply. The United States has praised this step and described India as a “great partner”. America says that this step of India in times of crisis will help in maintaining stability in the global oil market.

America called India a great partner

Indian Ambassador to America Sergio Gor said on social media platform X that India is a big buyer and consumer in the international oil market. In such a situation, cooperation between America and India is very important to maintain balance in the market.

Temporary exemption to buy oil from Russia

Amidst the current situation in the Middle East and the energy concerns arising from it, America has also given temporary permission to India to buy limited quantity of oil from Russia. Washington says that the purpose of this decision is to maintain the global energy supply during the crisis. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said tensions related to Iran have increased uncertainty over energy supplies in the Middle East. In such a situation, this step has been taken temporarily, so that stability is maintained in the global energy market.

relief from stress

Earlier, America had imposed a tariff of up to 25 percent on India for purchasing crude oil from Russia. Later US President Donald Trump decided to remove this additional tariff by announcing on his social media platform Truth Social. The US administration says that India had earlier reduced oil purchases from Russia and its attitude has been cooperative. In such a situation, India has been temporarily allowed to buy Russian oil to meet the shortage in energy supply due to the current crisis related to Iran.
