After retiring from cricket, most players enter the world of coaching or commentary. At the same time, today there are many such leagues in which only retired players participate, due to which they remain connected with cricket. However, there have been some players who adopted a different profession after leaving cricket. One such player is Siddharth Kaul, who is now working in a bank.
Siddharth Kaul was a part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 World Cup under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. His international career did not last long, but he made a name for himself with his performances. He got a chance to play 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches for India. Due to less opportunities, he decided to retire from cricket in the year 2024.
Siddharth Kaul, who represented Punjab in domestic cricket, is now working in a branch of State Bank of India (SBI) located in Chandigarh. After retirement, he has started a new innings of his life in the banking sector. Usually cricketers choose coaching or commentary, so the news of taking up a job in a bank surprised many people.
Despite not getting many opportunities at the international level, Siddharth Kaul’s performance in the IPL was quite impressive. In IPL 2008, Kolkata Knight Riders included him in their team for Rs 20 lakh, although he did not get a chance to play that season. After this, he did not become a part of any team for four years.
In the year 2013, Delhi Daredevils bought him for Rs 50 lakh and gave him a chance to play in IPL again. In the next season, Delhi also retained him for Rs 45 lakh. Siddharth played two consecutive seasons for Delhi. After that he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the IPL 2018 auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad kept him in the team by making a huge bid of Rs 3.80 crore. He remained a part of SRH team till 2021. After this, in 2022 and 2023, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who bought him for Rs 75 lakh. After 2023, he did not get another chance in IPL.
Talking about his IPL career, Siddharth Kaul played a total of 55 matches, in which he took 58 wickets. His best performance in this tournament was taking 4 wickets for 29 runs.
