Khamenei Statement: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, while addressing the country’s parliament on Thursday, stressed economic strength and national unity in the post-war situation. In a message issued on the occasion of the third year of the current tenure of the Parliament, he said that now the Parliament will have to become a strong basis for the economic stability and reconstruction of the country.
Emphasis on economic reform and inflation control
Ayatollah Khamenei said that parliament members should make economic stability, inflation control, cash management, increasing production and improving the Seventh Development Plan their priority. He said that provisions related to compensation and reconstruction of the losses incurred in the second and third wars should also be included in the plan. He said on social media platform X that in the current situation and the post-war era, it is necessary for the government and other institutions to prepare a clear roadmap.
Call to solve public problems
Iran’s supreme leader said that members of parliament, together with the government, should pay full attention to modernizing the country, increasing employment, strengthening production and solving the economic problems of the people. Along with advancing science, industry, culture and moral values, he also said that it is necessary to control financial corruption and inflation. Khamenei said that everyone will have to work together to eliminate poverty and deprivation from the country.
Appeal to maintain national unity
Khamenei appealed to all Iranians to remain united. He said that for the independence and pride of the country, every citizen should work to maintain national unity. He said that differences should not turn into conflict and division, but the message of unity and brotherhood should be given to all.
Enemies accused of spreading division in society
Iran’s supreme leader alleged that after war, economic pressure and political siege, the enemies are trying to create division within the country. He said that the opposing forces want to compensate for the defeat on the military front by creating social divisions so that Iran can be weakened.
Missile fired towards Kuwait
Meanwhile, the US Central Command i.e. CentCom claimed that Iran had fired a ballistic missile towards Kuwait on the night of May 27, which was successfully stopped by the Kuwaiti Army. According to Centcom, earlier Iranian forces had also sent five drones around the Strait of Hormuz, which were shot down by the US Army. The US military also stopped the launch of another drone from the control center located in Bandar Abbas.

Gulf countries expressed displeasure
The United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have condemned the missile attack on the American airbase in Kuwait. These countries have called it a flagrant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty. UAE directly named Iran in its statement and described these attacks as terrorist acts. At the same time, all three countries expressed solidarity with Kuwait and said that they will support every necessary step to maintain its security and stability.
