Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held his last cabinet meeting on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) before leaving the post of CM. This meeting continued for some time. After the meeting was over, Chirag Paswan’s party minister Sanjay Singh informed what Nitish Kumar had said.
He told, “Nitish said in his address that I will support the new government that will be formed in Bihar. I will continue to provide guidance. A lot of work has been done in Bihar. It will be done in future as well. You people should work together well in the new government.”
During the meeting, the cabinet members thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for ruling the state for the last 20 years. Sanjay Singh further said that group photography took place after the meeting. Everyone was very emotional. He said who will be the new CM will be clear today in the NDA Legislature Party meeting at 4 o’clock.

Nitish cabinet recommended dissolution of the cabinet in the meeting. Will inform the Governor with resignation. Nitish Kumar will submit his resignation today at 3:15 pm.

Congress has reacted to the changing political winds in Bihar. Bihar Congress spokesperson Dr. Snehashish Vardhan says that today, on the birth anniversary of Constitution maker Baba Saheb, the way democracy is being murdered in Bihar by BJP, the demand of JDU workers to make Nishant Kumar the CM and the silence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may prove to be doom for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He said that Nitish Kumar is a master of backfiring. BJP’s angry Hanuman may turn the tables on LJP, old ally Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hum(Se) and Telugu Desam Party’s Naidu Saheb.
