Amidst the increasing tension between America and Iran, an important meeting took place between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House for about 90 minutes. Iran’s nuclear program, regional security and future strategy were discussed in detail in the meeting. According to Israeli officials, the purpose of the meeting was not to put pressure on America for war, but to consider all options like diplomacy, economic pressure and military action.
Discussion on three options to deal with Iran
According to the report, three possible strategies regarding Iran were discussed in detail in the meeting. The first option was a diplomatic agreement. US Representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are engaged in talks with Iranian officials, but there are still major differences between the two sides. Netanyahu expressed fear that Iran would not make such an agreement, which could completely stop its nuclear ambitions.
The second option was to tighten economic sanctions by continuing the naval blockade against Iran. The third option was that if talks and sanctions were not effective then the scope of military action should be restarted and expanded.
Tension increased after the meeting
Just hours after the meeting ended, Iran attacked the US military base in Jordan with ballistic missiles. After this, Trump warned of a strong military response against Iran. However, according to Reuters, Netanyahu did not pressure Trump to launch an immediate attack and said that the final decision would have to be taken by America.
Trump expressed concern over the global economy
Along with military options, the global economy was also discussed in the meeting. Trump said that prolonged conflict could increase the risk of energy price increases and global economic instability. Whereas Netanyahu believed that Iran is now using the Strait of Hormuz as the last weapon to put pressure on America, hence it is necessary to increase the economic pressure further.

Syria and Saudi Arabia also at the center of discussion
The situation in Syria was also discussed in the meeting. Netanyahu showed Trump a map and told that Turkey has influence over a large part of Syria, while Israel is present only in the border buffer zone. He said that as long as the threat from Jihadi organizations remains, Israel will maintain its presence in the buffer zone of southern Syria. The two leaders also discussed the US-Saudi nuclear deal and the normalization of Saudi Arabia-Israel relations.
Preparation to become self-reliant in defense sector
In the meeting, Netanyahu told America that Israel wants to gradually reduce its dependence on American military aid over the next 10 years. Under this, emphasis will be laid on new defense partnerships, missile defense programs and joint development of modern weapons. Israel has also started work on a plan to develop next generation fighter aircraft at its own level, so that dependence on American F-35 aircraft can be reduced in future.
