After the war with America and Israel, Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian has appealed to Muslim countries to unite and form a ‘united front’ on the lines of NATO. He gave this statement during his visit to Pakistan on Tuesday (June 23). Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are already discussing the creation of ‘Islamic NATO’, now the initiative has been taken by Iran. Its purpose is to make the organization like NATO, ‘attack on one country means attack on all countries’.
What did Pejeshkian say?
According to The Dawn report, Pejeshkian, during a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, said that he had met and discussed with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz, President Asif Ali Zardari and Asim Munir. He said that along with discussions on bilateral relations, discussions were held on many issues including global developments.
Pejeshkian said, Iran and Pakistan are ready to take advantage of the positive environment to start a new era and strengthen bilateral relations. He further said, peace, stability and development and well-being of the countries in West Asia and the Persian Gulf can happen only when there are honest discussions, inter-regional cooperation, dialogue and cooperation based on mutual respect.

Visited Pakistan after Switzerland
Pejeshkian’s visit to Pakistan came after talks between Iran and the US in Switzerland, in which both sides agreed on a format to reach a final agreement within 60 days. The high-level talks held at the Lake Lucerne summit in Switzerland on Sunday and Monday came under the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ which was signed by the US and Iran on Thursday (June 18) to advance talks on regional security and other disputed issues.
