President Donald Trump has put such a condition in front of Shahbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, who were busy flattering America, which has given sleepless nights to the rulers of Pakistan. Trump demanded 5 countries to sign the Abraham Accords, including Pakistan. This enraged Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and he gave a blunt reply to America on this.

Khawaja Asif said that he is not in favor of normalizing relations with Israel by joining Islamabad’s Abraham Accords. Trump said that Muslim countries involved in negotiations with Iran should sign the Abraham Accords. UAE and Bahrain are already members of this agreement. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan are also expected to sign it. Let us tell you that this agreement is about establishing diplomatic, economic and security relations between Israel and Arab countries.

Against our basic ideology: Asif

Trump had said that the existing countries have benefited a lot from this agreement and in the future the benefits from it can be greater than before. In an interview given to Pakistan’s news channel Sama TV, the Defense Minister said, ‘Personally I do not think that we should get involved in any agreement which is against our basic ideology.’

What did Khawaja Asif say on Pakistan’s stance?

Pakistan’s Defense Minister also said that his country has long maintained that it will not recognize Israel until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the basis of pre-1967 borders. He said, ‘Our stand is very clear that this is not acceptable to us.’

How to sit with those on whom you don’t trust at all: Asif

Khwaja Asif also raised questions regarding credibility. He asked, ‘How will you sit with people whose words cannot be trusted even an iota?’ He also mentioned the passport of Pakistan, on which it is written that it is not valid for travel to Israel. Asif has been among those leaders who strongly oppose any idea of normalizing relations with Israel. Last month, he called Israel a curse for humanity and accused it of committing genocide in the region.
