Despite the monsoon, heat has been seen at many places so far in the month of July. Regarding this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that now the wait is almost over and the monsoon is preparing to make a strong comeback. According to IMD, it is expected that rain will return from north-east India and then this week rain will be seen in areas of eastern, central and northern India (Delhi, UP, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh).
During this period, there is a possibility of heavy rain and storm at many places and heavy rain may also occur at some places. The areas of Ganga plains (Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand) and Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh) which are struggling with heat and humidity will see good rains this month. The main reason for this withdrawal is the new area of low pressure forming in the Bay of Bengal.
An area of low pressure is that part of the atmosphere where air rises. As the air rises it acts like a giant vacuum cleaner, sucking moisture-laden air from the ocean and turning it into clouds that bring rain. As this system moves towards central India via the east coast, it will bring the monsoon trough back to its place. Let us tell you that where there is a trough, it rains.
India is going through break monsoon
According to IMD, India is currently going through a break monsoon. This is a pause during the monsoon, in which the monsoon trough (low pressure area of air) shifts northwards and central India receives reduced rainfall or drought. Very few low-pressure systems have formed over the Bay of Bengal this month. Due to this, till now a 24 percent reduction in rainfall has been observed across the country. India has received 244.6 mm rainfall against the normal of 323.1 mm.
The rain this week will bring coolness to the plains and will help farmers in sowing paddy, soybean, cotton and pulses. According to the Meteorological Department, the real test of this monsoon is starting now and August will decide how this season will be remembered.
